Primary Duties:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Human Resources (HR) Specialist to join our growing HR team. This role is key in administering HR policies and procedures and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of our employee experience and HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about HR operations and talent acquisition. This individual will possess excellent communication skills and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This role will be responsible for assisting with HR-related tasks and supporting various aspects of the recruitment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, assisting in developing job descriptions, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
Source candidates through various channels, including online job boards, social media platforms, and external agencies.
Assist in the coordination of recruitment events, such as job fairs, career expos, and campus recruitment activities.
Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing timely communication and assistance throughout the recruitment process.
Support onboarding process for new hires and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and processed.
Support HR initiatives and projects, such as new hire orientation, employee engagement activities, training administration, off-boarding, and performance management.
Assist in implementing programs to help improve employee experience.
Contribute to HR software implementation and improvements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files and candidate records in our HR system (HRIS) and applicant tracking system (ATS), in accordance with applicable policy and legal requirements.
Administer benefits and reporting, including 401(k) plan and COBRA in coordination with Accounting and Payroll.
Reconcile and pay benefits invoices.
Assist in leaves of absences and disability claim administration.
Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
Liaise with other departments and external vendors (payroll, IT, benefits, etc.).
Produce HR-related reports and documentation when needed. Coordinate annual filings and audits.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR and recruitment to continuously improve processes and procedures.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed above, and other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree required preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in HR/Recruiting/Talent management, preferably in the construction industry.
Experience working with a multi-state and multi-national company preferred.
HR experience in CA strongly preferred.
PHR, SPHR, PHR-CA, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired

OTHER REQUIREMENT & SKILLS:

Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Strong computer skills and acumen required.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite; ability to learn new programs easily.
HRIS & ATS experience required.
Tactful and professional demeanor, and ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, proactive, effective team player, resourceful with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
This position is expected to be on-site in the US HQ office at least three days per week.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 annually. This represents what we reasonably expect to offer. The final salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent on several factors, including but not limited to individual qualifications, skills, and experience.

Health insurance premiums are 100% paid by Obayashi for employees. Family insurance premiums are paid by Obayashi at 80%.
