The Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) is seeking a HR Generalist II to be a part of one of the most highly regarded park systems in the country. This position performs full-performance, professional human resources work to include a variety of HR duties. Exercises considerable independent judgment operates with a high degree of autonomy to troubleshoot and solve complex issues and apply systemic solutions to human capital business problems. Serves as the program lead for all employee relations and performance management issues, and as such must advise senior Park Authority leadership and individual employees on complex regulatory and workplace concerns. Provides strategic services, support, and counsel to the Park Authority's employees. Also supports other human resource program and initiatives, to include the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, employee communications, safety and risk management, human capital project management, and countywide liaison functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resource management, public administration, or a related field; plus, two years of professional-level human resources experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working as an entry level human resources generalist.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- HR Certification a plus (PHR, SHRM-CP, IPMA-CP).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with human resources information systems.
- Experience providing consultation on employee relations issues.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
- Attention to detail, problems solving skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
