Job Description/Responsibilities
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for assisting team members with benefits related inquiries, facilitating the enrollment process, maintaining accurate records, invoicing and ensuring compliance with benefit plans and regulation.
- Assist team member in understanding and enrolling in various benefit plans, such as health, dental, vision, retirement, and other team member benefits. Monitor the benefits inbox and respond to team member inquiries in a timely manner. Help create and distribute benefit-related communication materials.
- Support the organization and management of the annual open enrollment process. Educate team members about plan options, costs, and any updates or changes. Ensure that all required documentation is completed accurately and on time. Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction. Ensure data integrity, privacy, and security.
- Stay updated on federal and state regulations governing employee benefits, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and ERISA. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including reporting and disclosure obligations. Assist Benefits Analyst with preparation of the annual 5500s for 401k and benefit plans as needed.
- Assist team members in understanding and navigating the claims process for health and other insurance benefits. Address inquiries and help resolve issues related to claims denials or disputes.
- Models company culture in all interactions with team members providing a high level of customer service with particular attention to Fairness and Caring. Make recommendations for benefits improvements based on feedback received from team members.
- Use Performance Development System (PDS) to enhance performance within the company through evaluation, planning, and goal execution. Strive to constantly develop oneself as a valuable asset through personal and professional growth and attention to the position’s outcomes. Support the widespread use of PDS and support company culture within the organization.
- Utilize Career Development System (CDS) to identify training needs and design development curriculum, programs and content for the purpose of preparing for career opportunities within the company. Provide feedback to manager regarding on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Assist with creation of training materials, work instructions, and process documents for benefits. Continually identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements
MUST
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize
- Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- 2 years relevant experience (minimum)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 10 pounds without assistance
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting
