About the opportunityAt SWCA Environmental Consultants, we are looking for a People Support Business Partner to support a region of employees made up of full-time, part-time and temporary employees. The People Support Business Partner will work with leadership in their assigned region to enhance the quality of employee working environments; support positive communications between employees and managers and deliver proactive and strategic resolutions. The position will be 100% remote, from a home office, allowing for occasional travel.
Reporting to the People Support Manager, the People Support Business Partner, will offer consultation, facilitation, and resolution strategies for workplace issues, and reinforce the organization’s employee-related policies and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining a positive and consultative relationship with employees and business leaders.

What you will accomplish- Consult with leadership on people issues and provide guidance and/or support regarding people-related strategy and execution.
- Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Work closely with management on engagement action plans to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
- Identify training and resource needs for teams.
- Analyze and interpret various types of employee reports/survey data and provide proactive solutions.
- Monitor the HR Confidential email inbox (including occasional nights and weekends) to ensure the team responds to all emails within 24 hours.
- Cultivate strong relationships with SWCA Leadership across the organization by way of regular, proactive check-ins.
- Champion and support Inclusion and Diversity efforts across the organization taking lead on various initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and qualifications for success- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources or a related field.
- 5+ years employee relations, human resource business partner or equivalent team leadership experience.
- Must be comfortable working in the “gray” and managing ambiguity.
- Strong understanding of labor and employment law nationwide.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues.
- Excellent presentation skills, conflict resolution, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to champion HR programs.
- Ability to manage multiple, complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently.
- Ability to build credibility and inspire confidence at all levels of the organization; maintain a fair and impartial attitude.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Strong counseling and coaching skills.
- Technically savvy with data analysis skills and ability to learn new systems and platforms
- Able to travel approximately 20% of the time
Preferred:
- SHRM certification preferred (PHR or SPHR)
- Experience working in a consulting or professional services company or similar industry with a billable hours model
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and/or SharePoint a plus

An employee in this Phoenix office -based position can expect an hourly wage of $69,680/year-$91,520/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
