Job Overview:
As a Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs. This includes health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, leave policies, and other fringe benefits. The role involves ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, analyzing market trends, and communicating effectively with employees to educate them about available benefits.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Benefits Program Management/ Administration:
- Design, implement, and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental and vision plans, retirement plans, life insurance, and other voluntary benefits.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the benefits programs remain competitive and compliant.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of benefits programs, including enrollment, claims processing, and communication with third-party providers.
- Collaborate with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee benefits data.
- Experience with Reference Based Pricing is a plus.
- Management of Benefits Team.
Compliance/ Employee Communication:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits, such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.
- Coordinate audits and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to educate employees about available benefits, changes to existing plans, and other relevant information.
- Conduct benefits orientations and guide employees on benefit-related inquiries.
Vendor Management/ Data Analysis:
- Collaborate with benefit plan providers, insurers, and brokers to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, and optimize services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and recommend changes as needed.
- Analyze benefits utilization and costs, preparing reports for senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor employee satisfaction and make recommendations for improvements.
Policy Development:
- Develop and update policies and procedures related to employee benefits.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure policies align with relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 -10 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR function.
- Strong knowledge of benefits laws, regulations, and trends.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experienced in team management.
