The Senior Human Resources Generalist position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated regions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
The Sr. HR Generalist maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's goals and objectives, partnership with region on performance management, career development, training needs and its culture of excellence by providing superior customer experience on all levels.
Essential Job Functions
- Effectively manages and resolves employee relations issues through conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations as necessary, in a timely and responsive manner. Ability to assess credibility, draw conclusion, and recommend effective resolutions.
- Builds strong working relationships with respective regions to provide coaching and guidance in support of administering policies and procedures to ensure employees receive fair and reasonable treatment to establish a supportive work environment, to maintain consistency in the application of Company policies and procedures, and to avoid potential legal liabilities.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies in support of organizational goals.
- Conducts meetings with respective regions to provide coaching and guidance as needed related to performance management and employee concerns (i.e., Corrective Actions, Performance Improvement Plans, etc.)
- Ensures regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the other departments (i.e., Payroll, Compliance, etc.)
- Ensures timely responses to employee relations related matters via the ticketing system.
- Collaborates with Workers Compensation, Benefits and Leave of Absence Specialist to process and track relevant information. Partners closely with LOA to ensure interactive process is followed for work restrictions and leave support; resolves escalated issues.
- Provides excellent customer experience by responding to inquiries timely to meet company’s standards.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Participates in evaluation and recommendations of training programs as needed to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met. Provide training to regions (i.e., lunch & learns, train the trainer, etc.)
- Participates in developing the communication and training materials for new or revised HR related program introductions.
- Supports accomplishment of human resources department and organization mission by completing other related duties in excellence, as needed.
- Additional duties and assignments as required or requested.

Education, Licenses, and Certifications
- High School, GED, or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited academic institution is preferred.
- SHRM Certification Preferred
- A minimum five 5 years of HR (compensation, benefits, employee relations, and HRIS) experience required.
- Solid working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
