The HR Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides comprehensive Human Resources support to our Racine facility. This role is a member of the site leadership team and is critical in executing our people initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a consummate team player with the ability to leverage a shared service approach to HR while partnering with the local leadership team to create and drive the local people strategy. This role is a direct report to the local Vice President / General Manager and a dotted line report to the Corporate HR Director.

The HR Manager in Racine will be expected to provide great internal customer support and take a high-touch approach to driving HR functional and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Set objectives for the HR function locally and track progress
- Create and drive a local staffing strategy
- Monitor internal HR systems and databases
- Partner with local controller to Review and approve or modify budgets
- Implement company policies
- Monitor key HR metrics
- Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures
- Create detailed reports on HR costs
- Address employees’ queries (e.g. on compensation and labor regulations)
- Maintain employee records, data and reporting with the highest degree of confidentiality
- Stay current on state/federal employment law and ensure location compliance
- Manage facility HR Generalist
- Serve as secondary contact for employee relations
- Oversee investigations and make recommendations regarding appropriate resolution
- Support supervisors and managers in handling conflict and facilitating difficult conversations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required, in lieu of degree 15 or more years of relevant experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of Human Resources Management / Leadership experience required.
- Prior experience supporting both hourly and professional employee client groups (distribution or manufacturing preferred).
- Possess problem solving and analytical capability; experience of managing ambiguity and analyzing HR metrics to find root causes and develop short, medium and long-term plans.
- Current knowledge of employment law, compensation, benefits, employee relations, organizational design, & training and development.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
