We are seeking a Human Resource Generalist for our Selko brand-Indianapolis, IN. This employee-centric role will be visible in the plant, recruit blue-collar roles, build relationships by prioritizing employee’s well-being, answer benefit questions, respond to questions from our Line Managers, redirect questions to the Human Resource Manager or Shared Services, be an onsite resource to employees and the HR team. About The Role: Employee Lifecycle
Responsibilities:
- Deliver full-cycle recruitment of blue-collar roles and managing third-partner agency partnerships to achieve an effective workforce planning process and meeting staffing needs
- Assist with employee onboarding and orientation activities
- Point-of-onsite contact for LOAs, FMLA forms, assistance with Intranet and internal communication, organize and participate in onsite AM and PM plant events, schedule internal/external meetings/trainings on HR related matters
- Collect, monitor and assist in the periodic updating of the HRIS system- employee records, master data and archives in accordance with Nutreco polices, federal and state requirements
- Coordinate onsite and online training with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Develop and contribute to the salary and bonus cycle reviews
Benefits administration
- Respond to employee benefit and payroll questions, including for various insurances and other total rewards, lifecycle changes in benefits entitlements, regulatory reporting and audits
- Exercise confidentiality with handling personnel matter and employee data
Employee Engagement
- Answer Employee, Line Managers, HRM questions with a sense of personalized urgency, accuracy and follow up. Redirect additional questions to our Shared Service Team
- Research and provide pro-active information to employees
- Coach Line Managers on employment laws, working conditions, deliver conflict resolution on employee relation matters-defer to HRM
Reporting
- Run HR reports (Turnover and Weekly Headcount) for HR, Finance and Payroll
Continuous Improvement
- Seek opportunities to continuously improve our existing HR processes, templates, procedures by analyzing root cause of issues and applying Project Management Skills (PMP) to plan, execute and implement the improvements
Skills and Expertise
- Capable of multitasking at a high level, handle sensitive and confidential situations and detailed documentation

- Knowledge and experience with Workday HRIS and ATS systems, Dayforce HCM and SharePoint
- Intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Teams Word, PPT and Excel
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or a similar field
- 5+ years Human Resources Generalist experience preferred, but not required
- Solid understanding/experience with Human resources and Payroll processes, Total Rewards, Recruitment, Onboarding processes, Employee relations issues, Organizational planning and development, FMLA/Leave administration, federal and state of Indiana employment law (FLSA, ADEA, EEO, ADA, FMLA etc.), Performance management, Employee development, Corrective action, Employee investigations
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with internal stakeholders and Community partnerships
- Fluent in English is an advantage
Bonus qualifications:
- SHRM-CP PHR, HRCI certification
- PMP knowledge
- Fluency in Spanish and French is preferred, but not required
