Basic Purpose
Responsible for coordinating staffing, recruiting, training, and onboarding efforts for Free Bird and specified HPPC corporate positions, ensuring compliance with Company policies and government regulations. Assist with employee relations activities and issues at the Free Bird location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop recruiting strategies and perform all recruitment activities for Free Bird and specified positions for Freebird Chicken. Source, advertise, interview, and evaluate candidates, coordinating the hiring process with reporting Manager. Assist in production hourly recruiting at busy times.
2. Perform all aspects of recruiting and hiring for non-production hourly staff.
3. Prepare offer letters in accordance with company guidelines and coordinate post-offer drug testing and background screening.
4. Process new hires through the E-Verify system.
5. Work with staffing agencies in accordance of staffing needs
6. Maintain and utilize applicant tracking systems.
7. Manage and maintain Alchemy training systems.
8. Conduct exit interviews and compile data for feedback to management.
9. Conduct new employee orientation as needed
10. Assist HR Manager with employee relations investigations and resolutions of concerns.
11. Participate in the annual benefits open enrollment process. Assist with communicating changes to employees and processing enrollment forms. Act as a backup for Benefits Coordinator
12. Prepare a variety of other reports and spreadsheets to comply with internal policies and programs, and external mandates and approved requests.
13. Serve as back-up to other HR positions as needed.
14. Plan and coordinate yearly events as assigned.
15. Maintain current knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Identify trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management and employees accordingly
16. Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support FreeBird business objectives.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
· HR experience of 3 to 5 years in human resources in a manufacturing environment
· Current working knowledge of employment laws, e.g., COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, ADAAA, EEO, and related state and federal regulations.
· Ability to plan, organize and complete work in a timely manner.
· Ability to research and analyze various types of information, policies, and regulations.
· Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with applicants, employees, management, and vendors.
· Superior written and verbal communications skills.
· Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and government regulations.
· Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast- paced environment.
· Knowledge of HRIS; ADP Enterprise preferred.
· High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish).
