Responsible for a wide range of duties to support HR Team, Management, and employees in hiring, onboarding, and offboarding. Training and compliance with laws and regulations concerning personnel, benefits, leaves of absence, systems and process management, and records maintenance. Support may overlap with other locations.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Function as a point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing guidance on HR-related matters. Not limited to answering frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes etc.
- Responsible for all aspects related to onboarding including updating, maintaining, and ensuring all required onboarding requirements are met.
- Conduct new hire orientations and assist with off-boarding. (This includes H2A on and off boarding).
- Assist in administrative areas to support overall department including but not limited to HRIS, benefits, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.
- Administer leave of absence requests and accommodations, particularly those arising under federal and state family medical leave laws, state paid leave laws, the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), short-term or long-term disability plans.
- Assist with translation of documents when needed.
- Evidence of an elevated level of confidentiality and professional judgment in managing all matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Five years in Human Resources experience, HR certification, relevant educational background, and/or combination is required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is required.
- Willingness to learn agricultural operations, and other state and federal requirements.
- Understanding of Workers Compensation law, Wage and Hour laws, Civil Rights law and employee benefits including health insurance and retirement plans.
- Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to follow-through to completion.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to balance conflicting points of view, demonstrate discretion, integrity, and fair-mindedness and must be customer service oriented.
- Proficient with HRIS and Intermediate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License with an insurable driving history.
