Human Resource and Safety Generalist
A-1 Excavating, LLC is a wholly owned Subsidiary of MasTec, Inc. A-1 Excavating, LLC is seeking a Human Resource and Safety Generalist to assist A-1 Excavating and its sister companies in Wisconsin.
The Human Resource and Safety Generalist position is open due to current employee accepting a new position in the organization.
The Human Resource and Safety Generalist is responsible for benefit administration, employment law and safety compliance. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Onboarding of new employees and processing separation of employment records; maintenance of employee records and tracking; assist with corporate benefit administration; updating policy and procedure manual; EEOC and Affirmative Action reporting and compliance; and worker’s compensation administration.
Must display a professional attitude in carrying out duties with integrity, accuracy, timeliness, and cooperation with the other members of the corporate management team. Must be comfortable establishing priorities and respecting the confidentiality of personal information. Must possess understanding of payroll taxes, union benefits, and verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with the project management, government representatives, Union officials, employees, and insurance providers and benefit administration providers.
The Human Resource and Safety Generalist reports to the General Manager and Safety Director.
This position has no supervision responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of experience desired in Human Resources and safety with knowledge of safety and commercial transportation regulations preferred.
Licensing/Registrations/Certifications: Desired: OSHA 30, MSHA (Ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date)
