As an HR Generalist, you'll serve as a pivotal figure, providing expert HR support to our Ambassadors and Leaders while championing our culture. From recruitment to employee engagement initiatives, you'll play a crucial role in executing the core functions of our People & Culture Team. This position is essential for driving our people and culture initiatives forward, delivering exceptional internal customer support, and spearheading HR functional excellence and process enhancement.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily execution of tasks and interactions with others.
- Serve as a first point of contact for employees seeking HR assistance across multiple work sites, answering questions and providing guidance on HR-related matters both in-person and virtually.
- Address employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and procedures in a timely and professional manner and escalate complex HR issues to senior team members or leadership as needed.
- Oversee HRIS administration and ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records for all sites.
- Partner with operations leadership to oversee the recruitment process for multiple manufacturing sites, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires across multiple sites, ensuring a smooth and successful transition into the organization.
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions to provide information on company policies, benefits, and expectations.
- Develop and maintain onboarding materials, including orientation guides and training resources.
- Process employment status changes while ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and FLSA regulations.
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits, ensuring timely enrollment, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage worker’s compensation claims and oversee work injury/incident investigations as necessary.
- Oversee the maintenance of OSHA logs and collaborate with operations leadership to address potential safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Manage FMLA, Short-Term Disability, and other personal leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies and completion of all required documentation; collaborate with employees and managers to facilitate smooth transitions during leave periods.
- Respond to and facilitate ADA accommodation requests, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies and accessibility in the workplace.
- Administer payroll adjustments, including rate changes, wage garnishments, and timecard adjustments.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations affecting each site.
- Collaborate with leadership to offer advice on HR matters, including interpreting policies, analyzing workforce trends and metrics, identifying training requirements, and fostering employee morale.
- Organize and coordinate employee engagement events and activities, such as team-building exercises, holiday celebrations, and recognition ceremonies, to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Facilitate training sessions on relevant HR- or safety-related subjects, ensuring training programs comply with regulatory requirements.
- Provide expertise and support in core HR processes, such as recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, FMLA compliance, employee relations, and payroll administration.
- Provide administrative support to People & Culture leadership as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead special projects aligned with the objectives of the Culture/HR team and broader organizational goals.
- Support the People & Culture Team in shared goals and initiatives.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in HR roles, preferably in a Generalist capacity.
- Experience working in HR in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to support leaders and employees across multiple work sites, including locations in other states, ensuring equitable access to HR resources for all employees regardless of location.
- Ability to provide virtual HR support, conduct remote meetings, and address challenges unique to multi-site work environments.
- Experience working with a remote HR team.
- Self-directed with a strong ability to communicate actions and activity.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, leadership, and external stakeholders; must be able to communicate policies, procedures, and complex information effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact are required for building relationships, collaborating with team members, and resolving conflicts.
- Must be able to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement effective strategies to address HR-related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, execute, and oversee HR initiatives and projects.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism while entrusted with sensitive information, adhering to high ethical standards.

- Intermediate proficiency in utilizing HRIS/HCM systems (preferably Paylocity).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience posting open positions and recruiting candidates for employment using an applicant tracking system.
- Ability to handle employee relations issues effectively and professionally; this includes conflict resolution, conducting investigations, and knowing when to escalate complex or serious issues to leadership.
- Proficiency in administering benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- High level of emotional and cultural intelligence and ability to navigate complex interpersonal relationships, understand diverse perspectives, and foster a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Exceptional organizational abilities coupled with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience using Canva or similar software to create engaging deliverables such as flyers, infographics, and posters is a plus.
