Anchor NW Property Management is a rapidly expanding family-owned property management company. We currently have over 30 beautiful apartment communities throughout SE, NE, and NW Portland and a corporate office located in Beaverton, OR.

The Position
The Human Resources Manager is an experienced and dynamic individual who embodies the essence of employee advocacy, engagement, and professional development. They possess a comprehensive skill set encompassing strategic HR management, effective communication, conflict resolution, and a genuine commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Communication & Knowledge Management
● Effectively communicate complex HR topics such as taxes, benefits, compliance, and employment concerns.
● Act as a reliable resource for employees by responding quickly to their inquiries.
● Stay abreast of company policies, benefits, payroll changes, and job descriptions.
● Troubleshoot software issues related to payroll and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
● Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll setup and inquiries, ensuring clear communication and assistance in understanding payroll processes.
Engagement & Accessibility
● Demonstrate exceptional listening skills to make employees feel heard and valued.
● Maintain an open-door policy and be readily accessible for employee inquiries and concerns.
● Cultivate a welcoming environment where employees feel comfortable approaching the HR Manager with any issues, questions, or suggestions.
● Proactively engage with staff to build rapport, ensuring a supportive and approachable presence within the organization.
Recruitment and Onboarding
● Implement a continuous recruitment strategy to attract top talent.
● Lead the recruitment process of team members making sure that all required steps such as advertisement, shortlisting of resumes, and interviews are appropriately followed.
● Lead the development and implementation of consistent systems of new staff induction and service requests between HR and other departments.
● Ensure preparedness for new staff onboarding before their first day.
● Ensure HR staff is providing new hires company email and all relevant documents upon starting their positions. This includes signing of a Job Description, contract, policies, and procedures.
● Confirm new staff are trained on timesheet procedures.
● Support the onboarding and orientation of new hires.
● Conduct follow-ups with new employees after their start to ensure a smooth transition.
Talent Management
● Implement initiatives for staff recognition beyond traditional channels, fostering a positive work environment.
● Collaborate with department heads to design, implement, and track personal and professional development courses and training programs.
General HR Management
● Implement a systematic approach to guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and security of personnel records, fostering efficient retrieval and compliance with regulatory standards. This includes recruitment documents, resumes, signed position descriptions, performance evaluations, disciplinary records, timesheets, and other essential documentation.
● Document and track changes in employee status, such as promotions, terminations, and salary adjustments.
● Collaborate with the CEO to revise the salary scale and participate in regular salary surveys in order to ensure that salaries and benefits are competitive within the market; Coordinate salary scale realignment as needed.
● Liaise with department heads to ensure that org charts are updated on a regular basis.
● Ensure the performance review processes are completed on time and with quality results. Train supervisors on how to properly conduct and track the evaluation processes.
Mediation & Advocacy
● Mediate conflicts between employees and/or with management, advocating for fair and balanced resolutions.
● Advocate for the interests of both employees and management, ensuring decisions align with the overall goals of the company.
● Maintain a neutral stance when addressing employee questions and concerns.
● Demonstrate empathy in handling difficult conversations, whether conveying employee concerns to management or delivering challenging news to employees in a balanced manner.
Cultural Ambassador and Wellness Program
● Proactively manage and enhance the company's culture, serving as a cultural ambassador.
● Spearhead initiatives related to employee wellness and overall well-being.
Event and Party Planning
● Organize and coordinate employee events and parties to enhance team morale and camaraderie.
Strategy, Vision, and Leadership
● Stay informed about compensation trends and make recommendations to align with industry standards.
● Collaborate with owners/managers to align HR strategies with the company's overall goals.
● Lead the roll-out of company-wide changes in pay, healthcare, retirement, and other policies.
Benefit Administration
● Administer employee benefits related to payroll, including health insurance, retirement contributions, and other deductions.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Reports Directly to: Director of Finance
Works Directly With: CEO, COO, Director of Facilities, Director of Tenant Success
Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills*

● Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar HR role.
● Demonstrated experience managing payroll systems
● Comprehensive knowledge of all federal and state payroll tax, wage and hour law and payroll policies
● Proven experience working with highly sensitive information
● Demonstrated commitment to employee development and engagement.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
