We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Holyoke, Massachusetts. This role primarily involves the management of the onboarding process, from post-employment offer to day 1 orientation. The HR Assistant will also be required to assist with document collection and handle walk-in potential new permanent candidates. The role requires on-site presence with some room for remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire onboarding process for new hires, from post-employment offer to day 1 orientation.
- Facilitate the collection of necessary employee file documents.
- Assist with walk-in potential new permanent candidates, guiding them through the application process and conducting preliminary interviews as necessary.
- Provide assistance with Drug Screens and I9 processing as part of the hiring process.
- Adapt to changing responsibilities as needed in response to the evolving needs of the organization.
- Deliver excellent customer service, demonstrating a friendly and accommodating demeanor, self-motivation, and detailed orientation.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for data entry and administrative tasks.
- Proven experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Experience in data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy
- Strong customer service skills with experience in a client-facing role
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
