We are recruiting for an HR Assistant to join our growing team in Sacramento, CA ( Natomas).The Human Resources Assistant supports the day-to-day operations and assists with all programs and services provided by the Human Resources Department, and provides support to employees company-wide. The Assistant works with staff, management, and external third parties and must maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential Duties &Responsibilities:
Act as first point of contact, monitor and answer emails and calls. Answer routine questions. Route emails, calls and questions as appropriate.
Ensure organization and smooth operations of department: file organization and maintenance (including personnel files), order and maintain office supplies for department.
Employee file maintenance: Set up new hire online personnel file. Ensure all forms and information are filed appropriately.
Draft and distribute communications via email, intranet, and social media platforms.
Maintain/Update Intranet posts and resources. Review and correct submitted notices for grammar and spelling. Maintain employee directory and time off list. Solicit news/information from branches for posting.
Maintain DMV pull program.
Process onboarding of new hires through HRIS system (ADP), ensure completion of required forms (I-9, W4, etc.), and assist with new hire orientation.
Process employment terminations including providing information and coordinating with payroll for final paycheck, sending standard communications to employee and internal departments. Administration of personnel and transactions in HRIS system and through internal communications.
Provide HRIS system support for the HR department including auditing data for accuracy, acting as liaison with ADP, trouble shooting, setting up processes and modules within ADP as needed.
Assist with employee benefit administration. Review enrollments for accuracy, input elections, terminations and changes in HRIS and insurance website. Reconcile insurance invoices and prepares invoice for processing.
Respond to employment verification requests.
Produce routine and ad hoc reports as needed.
May assist with workers compensation claim filing and tracking, EEO-1 and OSHA reporting, garnishment processing and recruitment efforts.
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
Assist with, or plan and coordinate companywide events including team building and health/wellness events, and company holiday party.
Participate in planning and coordination of companywide HR training and HR meetings (i.e. harassment prevention training, benefits open enrollment)
Works collaboratively with HR staff to develop and implemen programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
Provide backup to Receptionist for breaks and time off, in rotation with other administrative staff.
Miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Education & Experience:
Minimum 2 years human resources experience. Bachelor’s degree. Or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 3-5 years human resources, benefits, or related experience.
Working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
Experience working in HRIS system, ADP Workforce Now preferred.
