Human Resources Generalist

· Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
· Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
· Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
· Communicates benefits information to employees.
· Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; manages District EEO posters; and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
· Maintains FMLA records and communicates leave status information to employees.
· Maintains a record of occupational injuries and illnesses and submits OSHA state and federal reports on an annual basis.
· Completes Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board STAR Report twice annually.
· Reports, maintains, and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.
· Facilitates job fair recruitment; conducts new-employee orientations; and writes and places advertisements.
· Conducts exit interviews.
· Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
· Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
· Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
· Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (reviews applications, interviews).
· Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems. Reports vacation, sick, personal day and holiday use to payroll and scheduling. Maintains and distributes report of same.
· Maintains employee personnel files.
· Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
· SHRM-CP or HRCI Certification preferred.
· One to three years of experience in human resources desired.
· Understand basic EEO, OSHA, FMLA, I-9, and STAR record-keeping principles and reporting systems.
· Experience using eFinancePlus and Frontline systems preferred.
· Demonstrated organizational skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically Microsoft Excel.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Proven ability to gather and analyze information through a variety of methods.
· Writing skills sufficient to support recommendations, report on results, and convey messages clearly.
· Ability to work in a supportive relationship with all District employees.
· Experience training others preferred.

· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
· General office environment.
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple processes on an ongoing basis.
· Ability to attend negotiations meetings beyond regularly scheduled hours.
Salary: Competitive salary dependent upon qualifications plus excellent benefit package.
Bargaining Group and Level: Unaffiliated contract.
