JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: HR Talent Development Coordinator
Location: Division Administration Office
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary:
The HR Talent Development Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, articulating, executing, and monitoring strategic recruitment and retention initiatives to attract, find and acquire a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the division including talent evaluation and screening, job advertising and posting internally and externally, talent prospecting, and talent staffing and planning.
Essential Functions:
- Plan and develop strategies and processes to attract and retain talent, proactively build talent strategies and work to ensure alignment with Charlottesville City Schools' strategic goals.
- Work with school leadership on developing and implementing long-term and short-term recruitment initiatives and talent pipelines that align with staffing needs and ensure placement of diverse and qualified talent into open positions.
- Travel to other office locations, job fairs, on-campus recruiting, and other community events to promote Charlottesville City Schools.
- Manage the overall recruitment process from posting job openings through onboarding.
- Utilize metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment, selection, and placement.
Make recommendations for improvements based on trends identified in the evaluation process.
- Research HR talent acquisition best practices, methods, and processes; proactively recommend process improvement policies to standardize, rationalize and simplify recruiting processes.
- Perform 30-60-90 check-ins with new staff and provide feedback/follow-up.
- Lead and assist professional learning including substitute training as well as human resources required annual staff training.
- Develop new and enhance existing relationships with targeted universities and organizations in support of establishing a qualified diverse pipeline of talent.
- Manage student-teacher and internship placements.
- Manage employee contracts - monthly and annual distribution.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop new job descriptions or update existing job descriptions as needed.

- Help with new hire onboarding, compliance reporting, employee relations, etc.
- Maintain employee performance evaluation systems.
- Manage licensure application and renewal process. Attend VDOE licensure training.
- Assist with the interview process by attending and conducting interviews as needed.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Gather information, compile reports, and maintain office records/forms, and paper and electronic filing system. Prepare various materials such as interoffice communications, correspondence, forms, statistics, and reports using word processing, database, spreadsheet software, and timekeeping in the course of assigned duties.
- Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information and materials received verbally, in meetings, or day-to-day business of the Human Resources Department
- Provide customer service to all stakeholders, communicating effectively in both written and verbal formats while resolving concerns and providing information and assistance.
- Assist Title IX compliance officers with employee investigations
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and
Board policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially with Excel and Word as well as a familiarity with Applicant Tracking systems. Knowledge of web-based UnifiedTalent
Applicant Tracking, Records, Perform, and G Suite are preferred and use of social media tools to identify and recruit candidates preferred.
● Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
● Strong team-building skills and being a positive contributor in a team environment.
● Strong interview skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
● Available to work before and after standard office hours as work requires.
● Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive information.
● Ability to travel to attend VDOE events, career fairs/events, and conferences as necessary.
● Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
● Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. 2+ year’s previous human resource experience, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in recruiting. Previous employment in human resources in an educational setting is preferred. PHR, SHRM, or other Human Resource Certifications are recommended.

Physical Conditions and Nature of Work:
Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional extended periods of time at computer terminals. Visits to schools may be required for various employment functions.
Working hours beyond set hours and days may occur. Frequent telephone and occasional personal contact with Division leadership, principals, teachers, staff, and applicants is required.
Evaluation:
The HR Talent Development Coordinator will be evaluated by the Director of Human Resources.

Pay: $84,870.00 - $131,549.00 per year
