Human Resources Business Partner
POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Business Partner provides human resources consultation and support to a designated business unit to define and execute HR strategies that enable the accomplishment of business aims. Contributes to the development of workforce plans and understands external customer trends and issues in the industry that could potentially affect business. Provides guidance to convert strategies into result-driven actions. Utilizes knowledge of various human resources functions to provide tactical support to line managers. Provides change management support as needed. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Must have sound judgment and work well in ambiguity.
Responsibilities:
- Support the assigned group of functional leaders by providing a positive work environment for all team members.
- Provide full-lifecycle recruitment to ensure open positions are filled with quality candidates.
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
- Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork.
- Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Prepare or keep employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
- Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
- Schedule or conduct new employee orientations.
- Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
- Provide management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues.
- Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.
- Recommend management on organizing, preparing, or implementing recruiting or retention programs.
- Develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or expected staffing needs.
- Administer employee benefit plans.
- Schedule or administer skill, intelligence, psychological, or drug tests for current or prospective employees.
- Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants.
- Administer leave of absence processes to ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and other state, federal, and local regulations.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Educational Background & Experience Requirements:
- 4-6 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities is needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Organizational Development, or similar is preferred.
- SHRM or HRCI Certification is preferred.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Sound judgment with strong analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a high degree of accuracy and customer service.
