Our client is seeking a VP of People & Culture to join their expanding team! This individual will be tasked with fostering a balanced, people-focused, and performance-oriented environment within the organization. They will provide strategic leadership by developing and implementing HR policies and programs that reflect the company's values, vision, and goals. The role includes overseeing all HR functions, managing daily departmental operations, and advising senior executives on critical leadership matters.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs and implements strategies to shape company culture, focusing on employee experience, company values, performance targets, engagement, and retention.
- Collaborates with the C-Suite to develop and execute organizational planning and leadership development across management and leadership teams.
- Actively aligns the work environment with the company's values, mission, and key objectives to maintain and evolve workplace culture.
- Develops and directs efficient, timely, and cost-effective talent acquisition and recruitment strategies for all leadership and staffing levels.
- Creates and implements HR policies and programs.
- Works with senior and executive management on HR initiatives (e.g., compensation and benefits, succession management, performance management, etc.).
- Designs cost-effective compensation and benefit programs, ensuring fair, consistent, and competitive pay practices across the company.
- Benchmarks HR programs, benefits, and compensation against industry competitors and regional performance indicators.
- Collaborates with third-party administrators to negotiate, execute, and manage employee benefit plans (e.g., medical, dental, retirement, etc.).
- Oversees day-to-day HR and Payroll administration through direct reports.
- Monitors departmental projects and functional tasks (e.g., employee relations, workers' compensation, unemployment, etc.).
- Ensures compliance with applicable state, federal, and local employment laws.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor/manager or as required by business needs.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree
- SHRM-SCP preferred
- 10+ years (15+ preferred) in People/Culture/Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a Senior Manager or Director role.
- Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems like PayCom, Paylocity, ADP, etc.
- Proven ability to produce effective budgets and monitor, review, and report on financial performance.
- Experience with a similar-sized multifamily real estate company preferred but not required.
