The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resource leaders in supporting ICG. This position reports to the Sr. HR leader and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. The role will play a critical part in support of the operations teams. This position will work at the Florence, SC facility and is considered an on-site role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee, provide, and perform all related HR functions: talent management, compensation, leave of absence, payroll, HR compliance and collaborate on workplace safety.
- Provide practical, consistent, and pro-active support, direction and advice to field and plant leaders and employees on complex Human Resource, Employee Relations, and regulatory issues.
- Provide performance management guidance to supervisors and support them in carrying out their responsibilities on people matters (supervision/coaching, mentoring professional development, and disciplinary actions); provide supervisors and staff members with coaching and resources to help resolve and prevent interpersonal and team conflicts and adapt to different leadership styles.
- Investigate, document, and resolve employee relations issues and employee claims/complaints.
- Oversee workforce planning with Management, manage onboarding and termination issues, including new employee orientations, employee terminations, and exit interviews, to determine reasons behind separation.
- Support employees in various HR-related areas such as LOA, FMLA, Workers Comp and compensation.
- Oversees payroll activities, including time-keeping methods and time-keeping policies.
- Provide support to talent acquisition team as needed.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or equivalent in related field preferred.
- Candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant working experience with a strong HR Generalist background.
- Advanced certifications in HR are considered a plus.
Required Skillsets:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and present information, and the ability to influence and coach at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple and diverse assignments to meet deadlines.
- Experience working with an enterprise HRIS (Workday a plus), as well as an applicant tracking system.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Capable of analyzing data, problem solving, able to produce and submit reports.
- Team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships at all levels of the organization.
