Job Summary:
In partnership with the office of the General Counsel, Human Resources, Corporate Centers of Expertise (COE), Finance and Operations, this individual will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of the wages, dues, and benefits for the company’s union population. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for the unions and their corresponding benefit funds on all administrative and audit-related matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive compliance and fiscal discipline on all union wage and benefit administration processes end-to-end
- Develop processes for, maintain, and audit union rosters in external union portals in partnership with HR
- Regularly update internal documentation and systems in accordance with collective bargaining agreements
- Provide regular reporting and analysis to leadership on union benefit spending
- Maintain wages, dues, and benefit deductions in HRIS and audit for accuracy
- Function as subject matter expert on union wage, dues, and benefit matters by developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices and training colleagues on them
- Partner with General Counsel, Finance, Payroll and HR to provide time-sensitive information related to arbitrations and audits
- Partner with HR, Finance and Payroll to continuously improve data input and invoice reconciliation processes
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience processing high-volume payroll and benefits for a unionized workforce
- Bachelor’s degree required: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR Management or related field preferred
- Attention to detail and experience in continuous process improvement
- Accounting-level advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel required
- Experience updating and auditing HRIS systems and union portals
- Understanding of employment law, HR policies, processes and best practices
- Understanding of employment benefit administration and communication
- Ability to balance cross-functional, project-based work with day-to-day demands of HR department
