Role: HR Generalist and Assistant
This is a role that reports to and supports the Global Head of HR. The right candidate can exemplify broad knowledge of the human resources functions, from screening and background checks, to onboarding and offboarding. The HR Generalist has working knowledge of market comp and benefit analysis, understands national labor law, compliance, and employee management.
This role also assists the Global Managing Director with ad hoc duties such as calendar management, POs, and creating presentations.
Mission:
- Work closely with the Head of HR, IT, Finance, and the Global Managing Director
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes, maintain talent management processes
- Conduct employee onboarding and orientation, and help organize training & development initiatives
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and resolve any issues that may arise
- Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs
- Undertake tasks around performance management
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like hire timelines and employee turnover rates
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities, respond to human resources-related inquiries
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations, maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
- Help identify future staffing needs
- Manage calendar for Head of HR and GMD
- Process files and compliances for sexual harassment, discrimination, and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions
- Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary
- Aide in executing offer letters and contracts, manage employee and contractor files
- Assess office and staff needs, while updating HR budget
- Handle employee perks; staff parties, catering, etc.
- Work closely with IT to help set up and resolve employee issues, including set ups
- Assist Global Managing Director with ad hoc responsibilities such as managing calendar and travel arrangements
Ideal Profile:
- 3+ years experience as an HR Generalist
- BA/BS in Communications, Business Admin, or similar field
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS/PEO, especially ADP and Insperity
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws, especially NY and CA
- Awareness of OSHA, EEOC, and tax regulations and compliance
- Knowledge of Global laws a huge plus
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and/or Google Suite
- Impeccable interpersonal skills with positive communication style, verbal and written
- Passion for style, design, and taste in luxury and beauty
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions, to work independently, and to take initiative when appropriate
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly organized with an acute attentive to detail
