The HR Generalist position coordinates and performs a variety of HR functions as a member of the Human Resources team. Works with a diverse population of administrators, staff, faculty, students and the public, and responds to HR inquiries and/or operational questions.
This hybrid position will provide HR Generalist support to System Office employees and managers for approximately 60% of their time (3 days/week). The position will provide HR Generalist support to Kutztown University employees and managers for approximately 40% of their time (2 days/week). The System Office is a primarily remote workforce, and this position will work remotely for 60% of the time (3 days/week). The remaining 2 days/week the position will work on the Kutztown University campus. This position will manage a diverse array of HR responsibilities, including, but not limited to, policy administration, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations, performance management, and recruitment. Assigned work may be completed either independently, or in coordination with System Office and Kutztown University HR subject matter experts. Responsibilities require a highly responsive approach to work, providing excellent customer service, and addressing confidential and highly sensitive matters.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and three years of progressively responsible human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of the general principles and practices related to human resources management.
- Ability to manage work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Excellent technical skills, utilizing Microsoft Office products.
- Strong behavioral competencies related to results orientation, customer service, continuous improvement, teamwork and collaboration, and valuing diversity.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues and correspondence with confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of classification and compensation administration.
- Knowledge of recruitment and selection practices.
- Experience working with a unionized workforce.
- Familiarity with extracting and analyzing data from human resource information systems
Supplemental Information
The anticipated starting salary range is $55,300 - $71,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
