ABOUT THE POSITION
As our Recruiter, you will research, develop and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for Fairchild Equipment. You will also work closely with the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Coordinator on strategies and programs that will lead to enhanced retention of valued employees throughout the organization. You will provide recruiting and retention efforts for our multi-state company and at times asked to travel to our locations for business purposes. This is a full-time position out of our corporate office in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
RECRUITING AND ON-BOARDING
· Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
· Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
· Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
· Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
· Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
· Maintain employee referral program.
· Administer and maintain employee anniversary and birthday program.
· Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
· Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
· Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; organizes all pre-employment and DOT screenings; conducts employment verifications and completes reference checks; writes and places advertisements.
· Update applicant tracking system to accurately reflect the status of each candidate and job opening.
· Coordinate new hire paperwork such as contingency letters, offer letters, confidentiality agreements, etc.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
· Maintains human resources records for employees by recording the hiring, transfer, and change in job classifications for all employees.
· Coordinate and attend career fairs, campus recruiting events, and any other recruiting efforts.
· Build relationships and acts as a liaison with employment agencies.
· Maintain the company careers page and external job advertisements.
· Coordinate Probationary Period Review process. Monitor employee retention and work with Human Resource Manager and Human Resources Coordinator to develop strategy on how to work with department heads.
· Build an on-going relationship with Fairchild’s New Hire Trainers to build a strong orientation and learning experience to Technicians within their first week of employment and on-going.
· Work with all departments that are involved with the new hire onboarding process; communication with departments on employment start dates, orientation dates, etc.
HR SUPPORT
· Protects company’s value by keeping information confidential.
· Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
· Willingness to take on various administrative, communicative, and prioritizing responsibilities for all areas of HR as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
· Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information, strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork and flexibility.
· Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
· Travel to Fairchild Equipment locations as requested by HR Manager; less than 25% annually.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Associates Degree in Business Administration and/or Human Resources.
· 2+ years of experience in Human Resources and/or related experience is required.
