The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for many of the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources department related to talent acquisition. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for Nederveld, Inc. S/he will provide support within the Human Resources area, with other operational areas assigned, as needed.
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
- Identifies the most effective methods for recruiting and attracting candidates
- Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
- Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
- Maintains contact with candidates to keep them apprised of the status of their applications.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting session on an as needed basis.
Essential Skills for Performing the Job
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Required Education and Experience
- At least 5 years of related recruiting experience required, with prior experience in technical roles a plus.
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Human resources or a related field preferred
- General office experience, preferred
Position Type/Expected Hours
This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Physical Demands
This position is considered Sedentary. An employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, and hear. Majority of the time spent in a typical office environment.
Travel
Travel requirements for the position are minimal.
