BASIC PURPOSE: Provides HR consultation and support regarding employee relations and corporate talent management activities, projects and initiatives for US and International-based team members.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide performance management guidance to business partners including coaching, counseling, and corrective action.
- Lead investigations on employee relations matters and provide updates to management.
- Consult with business partners and management outside of the Human Resources (HR) department to provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies when appropriate.
- Serve as HR liaison between business partners and the legal team on work authorization matters.
- Proactively conduct workplace investigations resulting from team member complaints and/or allegations of misconduct, following a consistent methodology, and supported by tracking mechanisms.
- Work on Employee Relations related projects such as process improvement, employee handbook and policy, and procedure updates as necessary.
- Provide regular status updates to team members, maintain team member contact until request is resolved and document all resolutions.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of state, federal and local laws to develop, recommend, and implement HR policies that meet organizational needs.
- Provide support for broader talent management initiatives and programs.
- Lead team member post-employment process to include conducting exit interviews, providing related administrative transitional support, and processing unemployment claims.
- Lead the annual Performance Appraisal process.
- Lead code of ethical business conduct certification process.
- Assist with business continuity support activities.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Four-year college degree within the Human Resources field of study preferred and/or HR Certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 4 years of experience in a Human Resource role. A portion of that work experience is required to be in employee relations. Working knowledge of employment laws, guidelines, and other applicable local, state, and federal laws.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and be detail oriented.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn PeopleSoft data entry and support.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate level Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively work with team members at all levels and external clients.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn building basic queries.
- Ability to handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
